Rs. 5 crore Project for Development for Parks 
The Municipal corporation of Ludhiana has envisaged Rs. 5 crore Green drive for the city under which more the n 30 parks will be developed or redesigned in different localities of the City . The plan for the scheme named Nabhourhood Park Scheme has been devised to develop good quality park so that park peoples donor have to go far for recreation facilities. The park will be built according specific tastes and shooting designs and designing cum landscaping will be done by six renowned architects and designers of the region . Even the under developed localities have been included in the scheme. Existing park like Rakh Bagh and Rose garden will be given an entirely new look with many more facilities.
Ludhiana Stock Exchange begins online trade with Bombay Stock Exchange 
What may be termed as a major bust to business in the city , The Ludhiana Stock Exchange Securities Ltd. ,a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ludhiana stock exchange has gone online for trade transactions with the Bombay stock exchange. Online trade with the ATIONAL Stock Exchange is also expected to commence soon . This is conceder as the first step toward the Multi Stock Exchange System (MULTEX). Business volume is certain to increase with the commencement of the new facility. The total project cost estimated for the above the Rs. 1.25 crore.
MC Plans to Extend City Limits
The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation is planning to extend the city limits. Under the new plan an area extending nearly 22km, comprising around 20 odd peripheral villages all around the city , will come under the limits of the Municipal Corporation . Meanwhile according to MC officials seeing the pace at which the city is expending , the move would enable them to work for the planned growth of the city well in advance.
Information Warehouse of PAU
Punjab Agriculture University has developed and information warehouse which will serve as ready reference for post graduate students and teachers in agriculture and allied fields. The competition of research work contains titles and abstracts of all the theses submitted in the different department of the university. This database will not only be useful for the researchers, teachers, students and planners in locating and referring to different discipline in the university will also for establishing a network for exchanging information which would be required under the newly emerging global conditions and the intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) regimes.
 City to have a Tourist Information Centre
Ludhiana City will soon have a Tourist Information  Center with all modern facilities . This is step by the government to top the state’s tourism potential which still lies underutilized. The central government has approved Rs. 1.24 crore for the opening of this tourism information center which will provide vital information regarding hotels, their rates and tourists centers in Punjab.
Super Specialty Hospital for the City
Apollo ground of  he hospitals will soon setup a multi disciplinary hospital in the city at a cost of Rs. 75 crores, near Sharepur Chowk. The hospital to be named after the head of Namdhari sect, Satguru Partap Singh, will be covering an area of five acres. Indian Hospitals Limited will carry out a feasibility study to assess the health care scenario in the region and the required healthcare facilites.It is estimated that the hospital will employee 853 personnel and is expected to generate an annual revenue of Rs. 48.28 lakhs and hundred percent utilisation. The hospital is expected to be operational with in 24 months of the commencement of construction work on the building.
Upgradation of Sports Facilities in the city
The multipurpose hall of Guru Nanak Stadium will be laminated with one hundred floodlights shortly of a total cost of Rs. 2 crore. This hall will be the revenue for indoors game likes basket ball and volleyball for the fourth coming national games. Philips India is doing he lighting work in the hall. The hundred floodlights would be of metal halide lamps of international quality. The Shastari Indoor Stadium is also getting a facelift. MC will be spending around Rs. 18 lakhs for general renovation and for the up gradation of the existing sport facilities. The badminton hall will have a roof with waterproof facility, lights if international standard and tile works with modern designs.
