Municipal Corporation newsletter ‘MCL UPDATE’ is a platform for exchange of ideas on several issues concerning our city. It is a tool to highlight the functional approach of the Corporation and counsel the citizens of the Ludhiana about their share of responsibilities. There is a growing consensus that some functions of the Corporation should be privatized. I sincerely believethat high operating efficiency and finances for the system. In the recent past the Corporation has taken several steps towards privatization by the introduction of innovative schemes like the Neighborhood Sanitation Committees and Park Management Committees. These efforts have been appreciated by one and all. However, the pace of development is engulfing the natural setting of the City and is leading to some environmental concerns. MCL is doing its best to conserve and preserve this environment . This however, will not be possible without the co-operation of the citizens of Ludhiana.

MCL update is not a piece of literature but a living entity with a devoted cause. Through it , we want to let the citizens of Ludhiana know of various projects and processes being carried out in the City. MCL has a vision for Ludhiana. We want to create an environment , wherein the citizens enjoy the best of civic amenities and a comfortable way of life. Today, we venture into projects with the highest levels of quality a and cost assessment controls. We are also trying to reorganize and structure out internal systems including capacity building with an objective to make them more customer-centric. Although Ludhiana has a headway in infrastructure services but still we will need to move at much faster pace on the road  of progress, plenty and prosperity. We are hopeful that we will be able to protect the interests of our citizens and provide meaningful solutions to challenging issues and problems of the City. However it is of paramount interest to establish an unbreakable relationship and confidence among the citizens and the Corporation.
